The Somber Tides

Inspired by the challenges that provoke an oil spill in the ocean, on animals, and on marine ecosystems, Chantal Caron revisits textures, forms, and oppositions. In a performance that unites two marine goddesses held captive by la Grande Marée noire, struggling, wave-like movements and contractions of the body act as inspiration for a breath, or a wave.

Beings of Wood

An homage to the strength, power, and beauty of the iconic mammal of the woods, now on the brink of extinction: the caribou. Using driftwood as an allegory for their precious antlers, the cervid pack is tamed, migrates, and struggles together for the survival of their species. Beings of Wood is the fragile strength of our forests, nature, and freedom to act.

The Breath of Dawn

The Breath of Dawn is an invitation to witness the break of day, an immersive journey where the spectator is called to conduct an experiment tied to nature, movement, and meditation. It’s the history of commencement, at the break of day, where the first reflections of the river are revealed, where the shadow of night is erased. Blessed moment when the sun resumes its course, reanimates contours, breaths, and currents. The breath of dawn is a magical gift to rediscover each day.
