Cultural mediation workshops

Our cultural mediation projects are born from a desire to foster accessibility to contemporary dance, and sensitize different generations to the richness and preservation of our natural heritage.

Step into contemporary dance with us!

The public is invited to enter into relation with art through different cultural mediation workshops.

Led by a company performer, the workshop opens with an awakening of the body, through breathing exercises in harmony with the natural surroundings. Participants are subsequently immersed in the choreographic language of Fleuve | Espace danse by learning sequences of contemporary choreography, while relying on the strength of the present moment to enrich their movements.

Dancing between Sea and World

2019

It was during the 21st edition of La Fête des chants de marins that the public was able to witness dazzling performances of different dance styles: Flamenco with the artist Karine Parisé, Hip-Hop with Audrey Poirier, West African dance with Zoé Mouvet-Jourde and Pascaline Lebrun, and contemporary dance with the next generation from the École de danse Chantal Caron. Then, under the direction of Ghislain Jutras, the spectators took part in the celebration during a giant square set, to the sounds of Quebecois folklore by musicians Olivier Soucy, Olivier Légaré, and Claudine Arcand. To conclude, Chantal Caron paid tribute to the Saint Lawrence River while raising awareness in the community about the impact of pollution on the biodiversity of this precious and majestic waterway by inviting participants to perform the symbolic gesture of throwing a block of salt into the river.

2023
